Race Report 06/07/2025
A tricky day with some strong gusts blowing straight down the pool testing
even the most experienced sailors in todays racing.
In race one, Martin and Brian were both vying for the lead with a decision
by Martin to take an alternative tack to mark number two being the difference
between the two. That meant Martin came home only a few seconds ahead
of Brian with John making up the field in third.
Race two saw Niki take to the fleet in her Streaker and Brian hand his
Solo over to Joe for another gusty test of the brave. Joe took an early
lead but a kit failure on lap two saw him forced to retire. This left
the door open for Martin and John to battle it out for first and second
with Martin unltimately coming home a couple of minutes clear. Niki persisted
with determination and completed the course whilst remaining upright and
dry which was no mean feat given the challenging conditions. Another third
place see's her in prime position to take the novice trophy this year.
Another good days sailing in some difficult conditions, well done to
all those who participated and persisted.
